The Supreme Court delivered its judgement in the case of The Law Association of Zambia v The Attorney General on the issue of the constitutionality of certain provisions of the Public Order Act on 13th May 2016. As party to the case, the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) respects the decision of the Supreme Court as the highest court in the land.
LAZ is however somewhat disappointed with the decision. The view is based on the fact that the Supreme Court agreed with LAZ that there are clearly issues with the biased manner in which the Public Order Act is implemented in Zambia.
