The Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) is a body corporate established by the
Law Association of Zambia Act, Chapter 31 of the Laws of Zambia.
Being a body corporate, the
Association can sue and be sued and is competent to enter into any
contractual obligation of it’s choice. The Association’s
main policy-making body is the Annual General Meeting, comprising all
registered members of the Association, which membership presently stands
at five hundred.
In between the Annual General Meetings the Association elects an Executive,
comprising the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Hon. Secretary, Hon. Treasurer
and eleven Council Members to run the day-to-day affairs of the Association.
The Association has various committees of duly appointed Advocates responsible
for various activities of the Association.
