Valerie Kawangu Chiyombwe is an advocate of the High Court of Zambia with over 12 years post qualification experience. She is the founder and Managing Partner of the firm called Valerie & Partners.

She holds a Master of Laws from the University of Zambia and part from being a Council Member of the Law Association of Zambia, she is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).

Additionally, she holds a Certificate in Legal Writing and Case Analysis from the General Council of the Bar of South Africa. In addition, she is the Vice Chairperson of the Nominations and Elections Committee of the Engineering Institution of Zambia. Valerie also serves as the Chairperson of the Young Members Group of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators- Zambia Chapter.

Valerie is specialised in commercial transactional work in energy, construction and financing for construction, agriculture and supply of goods. She also advises her clients on Public Private Partnerships (PPPs), corporate financing and perfection of security, legal strategy, domestic relations, property transactions, arbitration and mediation. Her firm is also specialised in debt collection and settlement agreements. Valerie is passionate about advancing women’s economic well- being through skills training and volunteers her time with the Zambian Women With Skills Organisation, a Non – Governmental Organisation which trains women with enabling skills from underserved communities, including the differently abled.
