Daniel is an elected Member of the Law Association Zambia (LAZ) Council for period 2022 to 2024. He is an appointed Member of the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Board for the period 2022 to 2025.
He runs his own practice styled D. S. Libati Legal Practitioners on the Copperbelt Province. He is in his ninth year of practicing law as an Advocate of the High Court of Zambia.

Daniel holds a Bachelors degree in law from the University of Zambia (UNZA). He recently completed studying for a Masters degree in Constitutional Law and Elections in Africa at UNZA.

He is an active member of the LAZ’s Public Interest and Human Rights Committee.
He is a 2016 Mandela Washington Fellow under the Civic Leadership track, where he was privileged to attend a non-degree residential program at the University of California-Berkeley.
