Lungisani Zulu

Mr. Lungisani Zulu is the President of the Law Association of Zambia and a Partner in the Commercial Law Firm of Equitas Legal Practitioners.

He has previously served as Senior Legal Counsel of the Zambian Central Bank, Bank of Zambia, where his duties included providing legal guidance to the Central Bank in the formulation and implementation of the financial laws, policies, procedures and practices, litigation services before courts of law and arbitral tribunals among other key legal tasks.

Before joining the Central Bank, he had been a lecturer at the University of Zambia teaching commercial law, investment law, land law and trade law as well as working as private practice legal practitioner with Tembo Ngulube & Associates.

Lungisani is an experienced Arbitrator and Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK, Accredited Insolvency Practitioner, member of Listing Committee of the Lusaka Securities Exchange Plc, Notary Public and is passionate about private equity investment.

He is also a Director on the Board of Institute of Directors Zambia championing good corporate governance in the country. He is also a recipient of the Climate Law Practitioner Award, a global leadership award conferred at COP 27 by the Climate Law & Governance Institute for championing the use of the law in advancing the climate change agenda and green initiatives. He heads the Climate Change and Sustainability Committee of SADC Law Association comprising over 15 Bar Associations in Southern Africa.

Lungisani holds a Master of Laws Degree (LLM) from Cornell University, New York and a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from the University of Zambia. He is an Advocate of all Superior Courts in Zambia with over 15 years professional commercial and legal experience.
